The National Park of American Samoa ATB Silver Coin is the first 2020 release in the America the Beautiful coin series. The other four coins that will follow the American Samoa coin in order are the Weir Farm National Historic Site Silver Coin, the Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve Silver Coin, the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park Silver Coin, & the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Silver Coin. The US Mint has been producing five separate ATB silver coins each year starting in 2010. The ATB series was created to honor historical sites, national parks, and other important locations in the US and its territories.

All America the Beautiful Silver Coins are minted using 5 troy ounces of pure silver. The ATB series is the second most popular US Mint silver coin series behind the American Silver Eagles.

The obverse is the same as all other Silver ATB Coins, the design consists of a left-facing portrait of the United States’ first President, George Washington. Above him are the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, with “QUARTER DOLLAR” minted below him. The iconic phrase of US Mint coins of “IN GOD WE TRUST” is minted to the right of Washington and “LIBERTY” is minted on the left.

The reverse of this ATB Silver Coin features a mother bat hanging upside down clutching her baby to her chest. Around the bats are the words “NATIONAL PARK”, “AMERICAN SAMOA”, & “E PLURIBUS UNUM”.
