The Australian two ounces silver piece (abbreviated as 2 oz and designated with Ag for "silver") is a bullion and commemorative coin format. Uniquely, in Australia there are two mints authorised to strike legal tender: the Royal Australian Mint (which also makes the country's circulating coinage) and the Perth Mint which only makes collector and bullion coins, as well as other bullion products.
Both mints endeavour to create coins with attractive designs, and to introduce new designs and themes often, in order to raise the numismatic value of the coins over the value of previous metal used.
Australia has always been known as one of the top tourist destinations for a number of world travellers. There are a lot of reasons to go to this vibrant country. However, one of the most popular attractions that draw people within Australia’s borders has to be its wildlife. From a large, colourful outback to the wide array of inhabitants that dwell in it, Australia is a beautiful place to go to.
This Australia Wildlife silver coin celebrates three of Australia’s most iconic creatures: the kangaroo, the kookaburra, and the koala. Each of them has its own silver coin collection, but the Perth Mint, in a special release, offered collectors and investors the opportunity to have all of them in this single design. |

The obverse of the coin depicts the crowned old head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem crown and the Victoria Coronation necklace worn for her Coronation. This is her effigy known as the "Fifth Portrait" worldwide and "Sixth Portrait" in Australia, in "uncouped" version - showing the Queen's shoulders and not terminating at the neck as the normal version.
On the left, in small letters on the Queen's shoulder, the artist's initials J.C (for Jody Clark).
Running continuously around the rim is the monarch's legend and the face value: ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA · 2 DOLLARS ·.

The reverse design of the coin features a collage of the three themes of Perth Mint's long-running coin ranges: the Kangaroo, the Kookaburra, and the Koala. The kookaburra sits on a branch on the left while gazing into the sky; the kangaroo hops through a field of grass above right; the koala watches the viewer with curious eyes, below right.
Above, on two lines the inscription AUSTRALIAN WILDLIFE. On the central line separating the kangaroo from the koala - on the left, 2 oz 9999 SILVER (two troy ounces of 99.99% silver); on the right, the date of issue 2022, below which the Perth Mint's P mint mark..
The designer's initials NH (for Neil Hollis) are in the left field behind the kookaburra.
