This coin design was issued as part of the Royal Australian Mint's annual baby coin sets, which the mint has been releasing annually since 1995. The 2025 set, named Aussie Bubs (from Australian: Australian Babies) continues the tradition of joyously celebrating all things baby, coin and collecting. Inspired by traditional designs, these coins have a fresh, whimsical twist. Elyssa Waterford's design beautifully capture Australia’s wildlife, where "Syd the leafy sea dragon graces the 10 cent coin, watching a coin sink into the water, surrounded by seaweed resembling lyrebird tail feathers from Stuart Devlin’s design". No coins of this type have been released into circulation. | ||||||
