Coin | Silver Five Ounces 2022 Lost Tigers of Cambodia |
---|
|
The Kingdom of Cambodia has used its modern Riel currency since it was re-established in 1980; in general circulation, it is mostly served by banknotes.
The country also issues commemorative and bullion coins for the international market, usually in standard bullion sizes - such as the very large five troy ounces of silver format.
This coin is part of the first bullion release by Cambodia, and the first design in the Lost Tigers of Cambodia series. It features the Indochinese tigers, the largest species of tiger.
The Indochinese (or Indo-Chinese) tigers are natives of Cambodia and are also powerful religious and cultural symbols for the people that share their home. Surrounded by lush leaves of the woodlands, this coin design portrays the scenery of a healthy tiger population living in Cambodia once more.
The series is produced by the Singapore Mint under authorisation of the National Bank of Cambodia. |
