Silver Five Grams 2018 Star Wars - Season's Greetings, Coin from Niue - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend, the date of issue and the value: ELIZABETH II NIUE ONE DOLLAR 2018.

Below right, the metal content: 5gm .999 Fine Silver (five grams of 99.9% silver).

The background is patterned with the logo of the New Zealand Mint: NEW ZEALAND MINT on two lines, above which the stars of the Southern Cross constellation.

The reverse is in full colour and shows Star Wars character Darth Vader relaxing in front of a piano; in the background, a fireplace with Christmas stocking hanging from the mantelpiece (inscribed Han, Luke and Leia) and a Christmas tree.

There is no inscription.
