This official 2018 Euro coin set from Germany consists of 9 coins struck by the Hamburg Mint in BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) quality, called Stempelglanz in German. The set includes the regular circulating coins with denominations of 1 Euro, 50 Cent, 20 Cent, 10 Cent, 5 Cent, 2 Cent, and 1 Cent. This year's issue also includes two circulating commemorative coins - €2 marking 100 years since the birth of Helmut Schmidt, and the Berlin €2 coin from the series called "Die 16 Bundesländer der Bundesrepublik Deutschland" (The 16 States of the Federal Republic of Germany). This year, no €2 with the "definitive" obverse featuring the Federal Eagle of Germany were issued.
Germany has five mints - Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Hamburg. Coins issued by them differ only in the mint mark, which is a letter. All five mints issue sets in identical packaging, differing only in the inscription which announces the issuing mint, and the respective mint mark.
The Hamburg Mint uses the letter J. |
