1997 Krugerrand Proof Set, Coin Set from South Africa - detailed information

This set contains all the Krugerrand denominations issued in 1997, in proof quality and with a special 30 privy mark, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Krugerrand bullion coin range.

The set contains the following coins - 1 oz gold, 1/2 gold, 1/4 oz gold and 1/10th oz gold. The reverse of each coin depicts the legendary "Springbok", the national animal of South Africa. The obverse features the South African Republic’s first president from 1882 to 1902, Paul Kruger.

The one-ounce coin has a mintage limit of 500, with some coins distributed individually. The fractional sizes were available in this set only.

The set is presented in a wooden box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the South African Mint (Krugerrand coins are produced by Rand Refinery together with the South African Mint, and are packaged and marketed by the South African Mint).
