2018 Krugerrand Fractional 4 Coin Set - Privy Mark Armistice, Coin Set from South Africa - detailed information

This set includes only four of the smallest "fractional" gold Kruggerand coins from 2018 - 1/4 oz, 1/10th oz, 1/20th oz and 1/50th oz; they are all in proof quality.

The reverse of each coin depicts the legendary "Springbok", the national animal of South Africa. The obverse features the South African Republic’s first president from 1882 to 1902, Paul Kruger.

The coins have a privy mark on the reverse (above the Springbok's back) with the letters XI · XI · XI - commemorating the Armistice of the 11th November 1918 which ended the First World War on the Western Front between the Allies and their opponent, Germany. The agreement came into force on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, symbolised by the Roman numeral XI (11) repeated three times.

The set is presented in a wooden box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the South African Mint (Krugerrand coins are produced by Rand Refinery together with the South African Mint, and are packaged and marketed by the South African Mint).
