The Mint says about the set:
"While it is true that gold was evacuated from Pretoria by the Transvaal Government during the Boer War (1899 - 1902), no accurate account has ever been produced of its fate, spawning an urban legend of the ‘Kruger Millions’. The appeal of this missing gold thus makes the recent discovery of a large parcel of 910 Kruger ponde such a significant find.
Named ‘the Lost Hoard’ by the numismatic community, this parcel was stored in the Netherlands during the early 20th century, and then transferred to Switzerland before the Second World War (1939 - 1945) for safekeeping. It remained in a Swiss vault for decades, until it was recently sold at an auction.
Through the efforts of the South African Mint, collectors can now share in the excitement by owning some of the gold coins that were struck by the Transvaal Republic."
Included in this set is a 2019 1/10oz proof quality Krugerrand with a privy mark of the lost hoard logo along with an 1894 - 1897 ‘Lost Hoard’ Kruger Half Pond. This set also includes the Lost Hoard booklet and a replica of the original money bag in which the coins remained hidden for more than a century.
