This set contains two coloured one-ounce silver coins issued for Tuvalu as part of the Perth Mint's extensive Lunar range celebrating the twelve animals from the Chinese Lunar Calendar, and is dedicated to the 2017 Year of the Rooster.
The mint says about it: 2017 is the year of the Rooster, the tenth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. These unique coloured designs make this a beautiful collector’s items and great gift for a those born in the Year of the Rooster.
Signifying wealth and prosperity, the wealth coin depicts a representation of a rooster standing atop a stack of coins and holding a string of bronze "cash" coins. The background features a representation of the Terracotta Army. Signifying age and wisdom, the wisdom coin depicts a representation of an aged rooster in a Chinese water garden sitting on a scholar’s rock.
Each coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination on its obverse. Each set is housed in a classic Perth Mint display case with a colourful illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. |
