According to Krause:
2009 and later issues are nickel-plated steel and measure 21.5 mm, with a mass of 3.55 g.

Obverse

The obverse of the 10 cent coins in 2009 depicted an effigy of the monarch, legend and date: ELIZABETH II FIJI 2009.

In 2012, a new series was started where the obverse depicts representatives of the fauna of Fiji. The 10 cent coins have a Beka Mirimiri (Fiji Flying Fox) hanging upside down; the legend is FIJI [year] Beka mirimiri.
