Gold - Proof Australian Sovereign of the Perth Mint Limited Mintage only 1,500 pieces With numbered Certificate of Authenticity Delivery in original Box The 2025 Sovereign gold coin was struck by the Perth Mint from 91.67% pure gold in proof quality. The commemorative coin honors the Sovereign as the first minted coin in the Perth Mint's permanent gold issue. The motive features a depiction of St. George, a Roman guardian and Christian martyr who, according to tradition, saved a princess from a dragon and has since become a symbolic embodiment of courage and the victory of good over evil. The design also includes the inscription “AUSTRALIA”, the year of issue “2025” and the Perth Mint's mintmark “P”. The reverse shows the Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III and the denomination. Limited to 1,500 pieces worldwide, this Sovereign gold coin is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
