A lifetime of service 2013 FI Cupro Nickel Crown British Pobjoy Mint
The Mint says about this coin: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has spent a lifetime in the service of her country, with the year 2013 marking the historic 60th Anniversary of her Coronation at Westminster Abbey on 2nd June 1953. To commemorate this incredible dedication to her country, five nations from around the world have united to offer the ultimate tribute as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations: a magnificent coin each from Ascension Island, British Indian Ocean Territory, Falkland Islands, Isle of Man and South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands. The Falkland Islands commemorative coin features a central image of a young Queen surrounded by a garland of acorns and diamonds, with the image depicting her as she appeared at the time of her Coronation in 1953. The use of the acorns is a link to the Oak Tree, a symbol of strength and longevity and one which has long been associated with The Royal Family. The use of the diamonds in the garland signifies the sixty years that the Queen has been on the throne.
