The Central Bank of Malta issued a limited-edition gold and silver coin to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Republic of Malta.
The coin reverse carries a rendition of the commemorative tablet marking the foundation of the Republic on 13 December 1974. The commemorative tablet is a historic marker displayed on the façade of the Grandmaster's Palace in Valletta. The Bank's coin is an artistic tribute which underscores the enduring legacy of Malta's rich historical narrative and its fifty-year journey as a republic.
