Chapel Bridge – CIT Coin Invest AG The Mint says about this coin:
The Chapel Bridge, the oldest covered wooden bridge, is the most famous sight of the city Lucerne in Switzerland. It served as a defence and was built in 1365. After completion, the bridge which is now over 204 m long, was 75 m longer. It was shortened by that length when the river bank was filled in in 1835. The bridge is unique because of its 111 triangular pictures, of which nearly 80 were destroyed in the firestorm in April 1993. Europe’s second longest covered wooden bridge was immediately reconstructed and has been open to pedestrian traffic again since 1994. more CIT Item ID: 25444 Country: Palau Date of issue: 2011 Denomination: 5 Dollars Material: Silver .925 Quality: Proof Mintage: 2500 pcs |
