The Temple of Heaven is a 1’200 m long temple complex in Beijing. It is surrounded by big walls. The two most important buildings are the Imperial Vault of Heaven in the southern and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the northern part of the grounds. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests (illustrated on the coin) was constucted by Emperor Yongle in 1420. The Temple of Heaven, a UNESCO World Heritage since 1998, is considered a landmark of Beijing and is a big tourist attraction. more
