This coin is part of the "Mountains and Flora" series of over 60 coins released between 2009 and 2016. Throughout the series, which showcases the world’s most famous mountains, the successful initial design has been treated very conservatively - a mountain range in detailed relief in the background supplemented by a coloured native plant in the right-hand foreground. Not even the series name or placement of the issuing year have changed, making coins of this series highly recognisable and the entire set a beautiful homogeneous collection.
Several mini-series such as the "7 Summits" and the "Second 7 Summits", as well as several anniversary issues present popular approaches for collectors to get started with the Mountains and Flora series.
The series concluded in 2016 with the release of Mount Cook and Jungfrau. It is the most comprehensive coin collection of the world’s highest mountains ever minted.
Shishapangma – CIT Coin Invest AG The Mint says about this coin:
At 8013 meters the Shishapangma is the lowest eight-thousander and therefore, the fourteenth highest mountain worldwide. At the same time, because of its location in Tibet, which restricts access for it, it is also the last eight-thousander which has yet to be climbed. more CIT Item ID: 27015 Country: Palau Date of issue: 2014 Denomination: 5 Dollars Material: Silver .925 Quality: Proof Mintage: 2500 |
