The grey wolf is a predator and is probably the dog’s direct ancestor. The wolf has a rounded muzzle and strong fore and hind legs with sharp nails that allow it to rip open its prey. He has very sharp teeth in his mouth with which it can catch its prey and pointed ears that can pick up good sound. In the Ice Age, wolves were tiny and were about the size of a cat. These little wolves mainly lived in North America. The primeval wolves were much bigger. Wolves live in packs of about 6 to 20 wolves, also known as packs. The group’s size depends on the number of prey living in the territory, the ages of the wolves, the health of the animals, and whether humans threaten them. A wolf and she-wolf are both the leaders of the pack. They determine where to hunt and take the lead, but they are also on the front line when the youngest has to be defended.
