Coin description
The reverse of the coin depicts the tree of life in the center of the coin. The green and yellow colors represent the leaves and the fruits in front of the blue sky, and you can see its characteristic roots, all composed of dot art & pointillism.

The obverse side of the coin depicts the unique Coat of Arms with the same dot-art and the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” (the issuing country), “2020” (the year of issue), “DOT ART” (the name of the series) and “20 Dollars” (the face value).

Background information
The tree of life is a universal symbol widely used in spiritual and mythological traditions around the world. He represents life, protection, strength, wisdom, beauty, and redemption. The tree of life establishes a connection between man and the gods. With its roots, it touches the earth, and with its branches it reaches heaven. According to the Hebrew Bible, the tree of life, along with the tree of “the knowledge of good and evil”, is planted by God in the Garden of Eden (paradise). The fruits of the tree of life gave eternal life. After Adam and Eve ate fruits of the tree of “knowledge of good and evil”, they were banished from the Garden of Eden to keep them from eating the fruits of the tree of life.
