The motive in color shows a depiction of King Kong⢠on the Empire State Building holding Ann Darrow in his giant hand. The design is based on the cover of Dynamite Entertainment's âKing Kong: The Great Warâ from 2023. The reverse features the coat of arms of Samoa, the inscriptions â5 DOLLARSâ, âSAMOA 2024â, âSILVER.999 5 ozâ and the copyright. âKing Kongâ¢â is a fictional giant ape created by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack. The film spectacle of the same name conquered the big screen in 1932 - King Kong was not based on any literature at the time, but was created solely for the movie. The story of Kong, his home on Skull Island and the dramatic finale on the Empire State Building has fascinated and captivated audiences for almost a century. The cinematic landscape of the 1990s and 2000s spawned numerous remakes and adaptations, but Cooper's descendants turned to artist and writer Joe DeVito to develop the official sequel based around the original characters.
