SKU 283 20 & 50 Euro gold "Castles Fiorentino Chiesanuova" Gold Diptych with 20 and 50 Euro Proof "Architectural elements of San Marino: Castles of Fiorentino and Chiesanuova"
With 2016 the series dedicated to the San Marino architectural elements concerning the Castles of San Marino ends. The 20 euro coin depicts a detail of the Fiorentino fountain. It is located in Piazza XII Ottobre and placed on a semi-circular concrete wall that replaces the brick wall with the cover of the old fountain. The building is the work of the architect Gino Zani, grandson of engineer Gino Zani. The 50 euro coin depicts the church of San Giovanni Battista in Chiesanuova, built in 1961 from sandstone in San Marino on a project by engineer Gino Zani. The neo-Romanesque façade is flanked by an elegant five-arcades cloister portico and features a beautiful rose window overlooking the three entrance doors. In the presbytery two bas-reliefs depict the "Decapitation of Saint John the Baptist".
