To celebrate the election of His Holiness Pope Benedict XIV Pobjoy Mint is delighted to introduce an impressive new uncirculated cupro nickel commemorative coin on behalf of The Bank of Sierra Leone. The design on this superb collector's coin depicts Pope Benedict in front of the Basilica of St Peter in the Vatican City with the Coat of Arms of the Vatican. The wording ‘Pontifex Maximus Benedictus XVI’ is in the surround. ‘Habemus Papam’ – (We have a new Pope,) XIX Aprilis MMV (the date in Latin, that he was elected) and the value is shown at the base of the design. Each coin carries the Coat of Arms of Sierra Leone on the obverse and each exceptional design is available in Cupro Nickel and Proof Sterling Silver.
