To remember Princess Diana on the 10th Anniversary of her Death, Pobjoy Mint is delighted to announce the release of a new commemorative coin on behalf of the Bank of Sierra Leone, in memory of a life, which was so tragically cut short in 1997. The love and devotion the Princes shared for their Mother shines through in this delightful new collector's coin which depicts Diana, arms wrapped around Harry in a warm embrace, with William cuddling up to her right shoulder. The wording ‘1961-1997 Diana Princess of Wales’ appears in the surround and the obverse of the coin bears the Coat of Arms of Sierra Leone. This coin is available in Uncirculated Cupro Nickel. Show more Upon her marriage to Prince Charles, Diana Spencer became the Princess of Wales and it was not long after their Royal Wedding that she fell pregnant with their first child. A month before their first Anniversary, on 21st June 1982, Diana gave birth to the next heir to the throne, Prince William Arthur Philip Louis. Their second son, Prince Harry Henry Charles Albert David was born two years later on 15th September 1984. Diana was no ordinary Royal Mother and rather than leaving her baby princes behind, the Princess made certain that the boys accompanied their parents on their travels whenever possible. This coin was originally issued in Uncirculated Cupro Nickel, Proof Sterling Silver and Fine Proof 999.9 1/5oz and 1/25oz Gold of which the precious metal versions are struck four times to achieve the lustrous Pobjoy Proof finish.
