Sid Maurer is a legendary artist whose images of many public figures are, in many cases, almost as well known as the figures themselves. Maurer actually started at Columbia records when he was just 17-years old. After a storied career that spanned the 50's, 60s and beyond, Maurer decided to pursue his passion of painting full-time, leading to this stunning coin series that features his artwork.
The Legends of Music Series, of which this coin is a part, honors six of the leading performers from the past century. Each coin was struck from .999 fine silver and had black color printing applications on the coin contributing to its remarkable design. With this coin having a limited mintage of just 10,000 pieces, the window of opportunity for collectors get one is extremely limited.
