In 1979, PAMP Suisse changed the face of bullion bar production with the introduction of Lady Fortuna. The Fortuna Bar series was the world’s first to feature beautiful design elements on bars and has expanded over time to include gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bars. Fortuna was often depicted as a goddess holding a cornucopia, symbolizing abundance and prosperity, as well as a ship’s rudder, signifying her control over the course of one’s life. Many of these symbols remain a part of modern depictions of Fortuna, including in PAMP Suisse’s depiction of Fortuna.
On the obverse of 1 oz Lady Fortuna 45th Anniversary Silver Bars, you’ll find the PAMP Suisse logo and the hallmarks of the bar. The markings are arranged in portrait orientation with the logo at the top, hallmarks at the center of the bar, and an assayer’s mark at the bottom of the bar.
The reverse side of the PAMP Suisse Lady Fortuna 45th Anniversary Silver Bar comes with the iconic image of Fortuna. She is shown in left-profile relief with a blindfold covering her eyes. Other symbolism included in the field showcases sheaves of wheat, poppies, a horn of plenty on her head, precious coins, and a wheel of fortune.
