On the obverse of the 2022 2.5 oz U.S. Mint Marine Corps Silver Medal is an image showing three Marines. They each hold an M4 rifle and raise them as if preparing to shoot. The Marines are moving onto shore after they’ve just landed, which can be seen with the U.S. warship shown in the distant background of the scene. As two of the Marines move to crest the hill, the third lies hidden in the grass to provide cover.
The reverse of the 2022 2.5 oz U.S. Mint Marine Corps Silver Medal Box COA has many different elements that symbolize the Marine Corps. These symbols include the Marine Corps Globe, Eagle, and Anchor Emblem. Encircling the image is a detailed rope border and the Marine Corps’ core values: “HONOR”, “COURAGE”, and “COMMITMENT”. Below the image is the words “SEMPER FIDELIS” which is the Marine Corps motto and translates to “Always Faithful”.
