The Native America the Beautiful series is a new collection produced by the Native American Mint. Following the conclusion of the US Mint’s America the Beautiful series, the mint decided it would be fitting to create a new series with a similar theme but with a focus on Native American tribes and history. While the ATB series depicted an important landmark for each state, the Native America the Beautiful coins will feature a tribe, Native American reference, and significant site for each release.
On the obverse of 2022 1 oz Proof Native America the Beautiful California Coins, there is a depiction of a Native American settlement. The image shows a tribal figure amidst a grassy field. In the background, we see a series of tipis, as well as the iconic rock formation known as El Capitan. At the top of the coin is the word Uzumate, which is where we get the word Yosemite. You will also see the inscription Ahwahnechee, which is the name of the people who originally inhabited the Yosemite region. The words California, 2022, are also shown along the rim.
The reverse side of 2022 Proof Native America the Beautiful California Silver Coins features the face of an eagle and a beautiful Native American pattern. Around the edge, there are inscriptions that read Native America the Beautiful, 1 ounce, One Dollar, .999 AG.
