Information about effigy: King Charles III - Portrait by Pobjoy Mint

This portrait of King Charles III shows the monarch bare-headed (not crowned), facing left. The portrait was developed by the Pobjoy Mint for use in dependencies of Commonwealth countries where the mint had a license to issue coinage in their jurisdictions. The small letters PM above the King's shoulder are a mint mark, and not the initials of the designer (who is not known, at least to us).

The portrait was only used for a short time, as the Pobjoy Mint closed its doors in October 2023.
