![]() This double effigy of Queen Elizabeth II was used by the Pobjoy Mint on a number of coins it struck for the Isle of Man and other British dependencies in 2012 and 2013, to celebrate the monarch's Diamond Jubilee - 60 years on the throne. The design includes two right-facing portraits of the Queen which are "conjoined" - shown together, one slightly behind the other. In the foreground, an old portrait (NOT her portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, which was her definitive effigy used at the time). On it, the Queen wears the Royal Diamond Diadem crown which she wore for her Coronation, pearl earrings, and a pearl necklace. In the background, her First Definitive Effigy by Mary Gillick, used on Commonwealth coinage from 1953. |
