The history of P. De Greef goes back to 1890. Its founder Paul De Greef was a well-known engraver in the Rue du Midi (Zuidstraat) in Brussels. In the early days activities were limited to medals and decorations, but over time the range was extended with awards, insignia, nameplates and stamps. A second branch was also opened in Antwerp, and the original Brussels branch was closed in August 2021. In 2016, Peter Jansen (ex CEO of Mauquoy) took over the shares of Marc Leysen. In April 2021, P. De Greef Medals also took over the activities and customer base of Fibru Europ. 50% of the company is owned by Mauquoy, which seems to market some of its products. |
