Information about Karl Schwenzer

Karl Schwenzer (26 February 1843 - 29 November 1904)

Karl Schwenzer was a medalist at the royal court of Württemberg from 1875 until his death in 1904, during which time he created virtually all the coins and medals that Württemberg issued.

In 1877 he also created the new obverses for Swiss 5, 10 and 20 centimes / rappen coins featuring the effigy of Libertas, which are still current today.
