Thomas Pesendorfer is an Austrian engraver and coin designer. He originally wanted to become a sculptor and attended the metal design college in Steyr. With this educational background, he began training in the coin Austria. His first coin design was a 20 shilling coin with a portrait of Joseph Haydn. His most famous design is that of the Vienna Philharmonic series of bullion coins. Pesendorfer was the Austrian Mint's chief engraver from 1993 until he retired in 2016. |
