George V (George Frederick Ernest Albert) was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India, from 6 May 1910 until his death in 1936.
The island of Tokelau got the status of a British Protectorate and was formally brought under the protection of the High Commissioner for the Western Pacific in June 1889. Thus, the British monarch became its head of state. The administration of the island was transferred to the Dominion of New Zealand in 1926, of which the British monarch was also head of state.
