Australian Kookaburra 2018 1oz Silver Two-Coin Set, Coin Set from Australia - detailed information

This unique proof and bullion set showcases the much-loved "king of the Australian bush" in full flight, its outstretched wings depicted in superb detail on each coin. One of Australia’s best known birds, the kookaburra has a distinctive "laugh" which is often heard at dusk.

The set contains two versions of the silver ounce Australian Kookaburra for 2018 (the range has a different design every year). The bullion version was issued with a mintage limited to 500,000 while the proof version was only issued in this set, with mintage of 1,000. Not that there is a different proof ounce with the same design, which is however "high relief", thicker and with a smaller diameter.
