The set includes four coins struck from 99.95% pure platinum and is part of the popular African Wildlife Series. The series from Somalia is characterised by annually changing motives and has become a globally popular investment classic within a few years.
The 2016 issue shows a trumpeting African elephant walking through the savanna, with trees and the sun in the background. The obverse of all coins shows the Somalian state Coat of Arms, which depicts a shield with a star supported by two cheetahs.
2016 is the first year in which platinum coins were issued in the series. |
