This two-coin set is one of the "historic" issues by the Royal Mint combining a newly released coin with a historic coin taken from circulation.

The new coin in the set is the 200 Years of The Modern Railway 2025 UK £2 commemorative coin, in a silver proof version. The old coin is a shilling from the period of the first locomotive depicted on the £2 coin (issued between 1817 and 1825), in circulated grade.

The set comes in a black presentation box, with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
