This is a sub-set of the standard United Kingdom Proof Set of the year, including some of the commemorative coins issued throughout the year, but not the regular circulating denominations.
The 2022 set includes two commemoratives marking the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II (70 years on the throne): a £5 (crown-sized) coin, and the first 50p coin marking a Royal event. There are also two commemorative £2 coins: Alexander Graham Bell and Dame Vera Lynn, and a 50p issued to mark the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
All coins in this set are struck in 99.95% platinum in Proof FDC grade. Unlike the other commemorative sets of the year, this set contains the "special versions" of the Platinum Jubilee £5 and 50p coins, with a one-year equestrian effigy of the Queen. |
