In 2014 Royal Mint started a series of four-coin sets of silver coins called Portraits of Britain. This first set features landmarks in the British capital city of London.
Designed by Royal Mint engravers Laura Clancy and Glyn Davies, each iconic attraction is viewed as though through the eyes of a visitor, seen through passing crowds or rain showers, giving the coins the feel of an impressionist painting, enhanced by the trichromatic colour-printing.
The coins are crown-sized, denominated as five pounds, and available in this set only; they were not sold individually. |
