2008 United Kingdom Coinage Royal Shield of Arms Proof Collection, Coin Set from United Kingdom - detailed information

In 2008, for the first time ever, The Royal Mint released a special Limited Issue Proof 7 Coin Collection of the new designs for the Coinage of the United Kingdom. There was a change to the coinage of the United Kingdom - one of the most significant changes in 40 years. New designs for the 1p to the £1 were introduced, contemporary in treatment yet grounded in the traditions of the coinage.

The set contains all the new circulating coin designs by Matthew Dent which were introduced in 2008 (£1 to 1p), in Proof FDC grade.
