This is the first United Kingdom proof mint set featuring the 20p denomination, which was first issued in this year. 1982 is also the first year when the Royal Mint issued mint sets in two different grades: Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated. Another difference is that the currency is no longer "new" and the coins are not denominated as "new pence" any more. The coins in this set are Proof FDC, with a frosted finish.
