This is the standard United Kingdom proof mint set of the year. It contains the regular circulating denominations six commemorative coins: Crown-sized £5 celebrating the 90th birthday of Prince Philip, the King James Bible £2, the Mary Rose £2, the £1 coins for Cardiff and for Edinburgh, and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) 50p.

The coins are in Proof FDC grade with a frosted finish.

Mintages are not very clear. The Royal Mint lists the following mintages:
- UK Definitive 50p-1p sets - 56,007 (although in reality there was no set of just 1p to 50p with no pound coins)
- UK Definitive £1 - 52,213 (although in reality there was no set of just 1p to 50p with no £2)
- UK Definitive £2 - 51,774 (although there were at least two sets containing £2 coins)
