This set contains three sovereign coins, each struck during a year marking a milestone in the life of King Charles III. It is one of the Royal Mint's "historic" set featuring old coins (sourced from the secondary market), and includes:
- the 1958 Sovereign, presented in a minimum of extremely fine condition, features Mary Gillick’s inaugural coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, marking the year in which His Majesty The King became HRH The Prince of Wales.
- the Memorial Sovereign 2022. Struck to commemorate the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, it is the first Sovereign to bear the official coinage portrait of King Charles III and charts his transition from the longest-serving heir apparent in British history to monarch.
- the 2023 proof Sovereign. Struck in celebration of The King’s coronation, it features His Majesty’s first crowned coinage portrait, designed by Martin Jennings. |
