1998 American Eagle Proof Platinum Four-Coin Set, Coin Set from United States - detailed information

This set contains the proof versions of the four different denominations of the American Platinum Eagle coin issued in 1998. The coins were struck by the West Point Mint and have a W mint mark, unlike the bullion coins which were struck by the Philadelphia Mint and have no mint mark.

The proof version also features a different one-year design on the reverse depicting a bald eagle flying over New England, instead of the "definitive" soaring eagle design of the bullion range.
