Until 1987, Fiji fifty cent coins were the same size and shape as their Australian counterparts. The large 50 cent coins were demonetised in 2009.

Effigy of the monarch, legend, date.

Throughout the existence of this coin type, the only monarch was Queen Elizabeth II and the legend used was ELIZABETH II FIJI.
