Laos (officially the Lao People's Democratic Republic) has been using the Lao Kip as its currency since 1955. In normal everyday circulation, it is normally served by banknotes and not coins.
The country has however authorised some foreign mints to issue bullion coins under its jurisdiction. These are usually in standard bullion sizes based on the troy ounce, such as the one tenth of an ounce of silver format. |
