Silver Kilo (1 kg), Coin Type from Samoa - detailed information

Silver Kilo (1 kg), Coin Type from Samoa (issued 2022 - )
Coin TypeSilver Kilo (1 kg)

The currency of Samoa is the Tālā, the name of which is a transliteration of the English words Dollar; it was introduced in 1967. On coinage sometimes the English word is inscribed, especially on commemorative and bullion coins not intended to circulate within the country.

Samoa has authorised some private mints to issue coins under its jurisdiction, which come in a variety of sizes - including in the very large one kilogram (1kg) of silver format. The coins listed below are considered Non-Circulating Legal-Tender (NCLT), i.e. issued at prices much higher than the intrinsic value of their precious metal content, and targeted towards collectors who appreciate them for their artistic values.
