In the United States, a significant number of private mints produce bullion which is not legal tender and is targeted at investors and not at coin collectors. Most of the silver products are in standard sizes based on the troy ounce or the metric system, but some (listed below) are not.

Such products with a rectangular form are known as "silver bars", and those with a circular form are known as "silver rounds".
