The 2013 Young Collectors ‘Experience It!’ series features six coins each portraying an outdoor leisure activity in which Australian kids love to partake, with snorkelling being the second fun release. Snorkelling is a popular recreational activity, providing fun and fitness for people of all ages, skill levels and gender. Aluminium Bronze $1 Coin This $1 coin is struck by The Perth Mint from high quality aluminium bronze. Stylish Reverse Design The coin’s coloured reverse portrays a snorkeller with a camera amid a brightly coloured coral reef. The inscription SNORKELLING, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the monetary denomination also appear in the design. Australian Legal Tender Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination. Illustrated Presentation Card A great gift for any budding young collector, the coin is housed in an illustrated presentation card which has fantastic illustrations and information about snorkelling.
