Celebrating the 150th anniversary of his birth and his lifelong achievements, this 2014-dated commemorative coin pays homage to Banjo Paterson’s love of the Australian bush and its characters. Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver The coin is meticulously struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality. Iconic Reverse Design with Colour The coin’s reverse depicts a scene with colour from the popular anthem Waltzing Matilda, featuring a swagman in colour. A photographic portrait of Banjo Paterson is fringed by Banksia flowers, his signature and the inscription A.B. “BANJO” PATERSON 1864 - 1941. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appears in the design. Australian Legal Tender Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date, and the monetary denomination on its obverse.
