The 1916 issue of Bulgarian coins was never released into circulation. It was all supposed to have been remelted; however, an unknown (but very small) number of coins have made it into the market. According to the Bulgarian National Bank, there are two varieties: with small and with large dots around the rim; around 350 surviving examples are thought to exist in total. Collectors should beware of forgeries. | ||||||
